Wishing You A Blessed, Blissful, Mother's Day!

.....From This Momma Robin and Another......

Looks like she has a split-level nest!

(Please - no comments about how this may be impacting my internet service....this is my television satelite dish, not my HughesNet dish.....Hope service holds out 'til Idol is over!)

Sometimes animals put us humans to shame. I love how they care for their babies.Isn't it funny some of the places that birds choose for their nests. I am the first sister in the picture on my blog. Hope you have a lovely day! Hugs, Lecia

That down below looks more like a sparrow nest. Robins use sticks and mud. Sparrows use anything from dryer lint to dead weeds to pieces of found fabric. Sorry to disappoint but not a double-decker robin condo. When this brood is raised, try hanging one of those hang in the bowl cakes there. You know the ones. They are kind of like moth balls.
Hope your day went well and hope you have sunshine all week!

Don't know Linda - you may be right - I'm no bird expert, but I do know that the one on top is definitely a Robin - saw her several times (with my glasses on even!)....And, I've witnessed her feeding the hatchlings in the nest below...so, maybe she "borrowed" someone's nest, or has taken in some foster babies????

Such a sweet little Robin. Pesky little things though . . . they insist on building a nest in the corner of our retractable awning every year. I have to extend and retract the awning a dozen times a day to shoo them away. The neighbors probably think I'm a nut!

I can see they have a wonderful, safe place to live. I love how they build their nests, their homes for their famlies!

Uh oh, bird in the satellite dish. Sometimes they choose the oddest places to nest.
