An Explanation in Advance for a Sporadic Crow???

Hey all....

I've been negligent today in my blog visits and email responses. I apologize for this and for what may be my somewhat sporadic presence in blogland over the next several days/weeks.  (Ok...."you're welcome" to those of you who might actually WELCOME this reprieve and think you'll have better chances at winning those giveaways!!)

I just got home a few hours ago after a long day of ambulances, ER's and hospitals.  And, yes....I think my new-found good fortune has taken a turn for the not-so-sunny side....How many of you can say you have been to urgent care and had the power go out and have a doctor try to start an iv in the dark while holding a flashlight in his teeth???
Just part of my day.....

Yes, I'M fine....but my dear mother not so much.  She was diagnosed today with massive blood clots in both of her lungs, which is aggravating her heart issues and causing failure. She also has clots in her legs, and they are going to put a filter in to prevent these from migrating as well to her lungs/heart.

So, I may or may not be here.  I will try to pop in as I can, but I'm not going to even pretend I'll be able to keep up or catch up....And I may not be a "complete sort of crow" if you know what I mean.  So, I ask for your understanding.....your good thoughts, and prayers if you can spare a few.

I love your comments, but I understand. Your a brave person allowing a doctor to do anything to you in the dark! Especially an IV, while the doctor had a flashlight in his mouth. It almost sounds like the beginning of a joke!

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. My Grandmother's sister had clots in her lung, and they used some sort of medicine through IV that broke them up. Of course, she had to stay in the hospital to have it done. I'm no doctor, but it wouldn't hurt to ask hers about that. Your Moher will be in my prayers!

I better stop now or I'll write you a book. Take care!
Melissa

My heart goes out to you, my fine feathered friend. Sounds like your Mom is having a rough go of it. The medical field is far more advanced than ever and I will pray that God guides their hands and eyes. My Mother has also had blood clots and they were able to get her through it. Confidence, dear one. Have confidence. It sounds as though you already have learned to trust. Really? Lights out in the ER? Don't they have back-up generators? Flashlight in his mouth? What dr. has a flashlight, just in case? Sounds like a crow experience, for sure!
You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Put your right hand on your left shoulder and your left hand on your right shoulder. Now squeeze. Do this often. Those are my hugs, my attempt to comfort.....

Robin...no worries dear. We will miss your cranky crowship, but we CAN live without your witty barbs for a few days (or weeks if need be). I will be praying for your mom. I had a clot in my leg that broke off into 3 pulmonary embolisms so I am particularly sensitive. You go do what you ahve to...we will all be here when you get back...well you know me, I am sometimes gone more often than not, but you get my drift dear friend.

Oh wow, who will make me laugh so hard I pee though ???? Well I will just have to survive on my own.

never had an IV by flashlight, but I did have one where they missed my vein 15 times and ended up having to put in a central line after they damaged the nerve in my THUMBBBBBBB...yes, I said thumb...thats where the VERY determined young lady ended up insisting she could get it in...My thunb...she seriously thought my thumb was a good place for an IV ? I have since learned I have a right to demand (nicely of course, or no one will be nice back) that if they miss it the first time I can have the IV team try...That was information I would have killed to know PRIOR to having this girl yam the iv needle into my thumb...Ok, I am digressing and now my thumb is hurting (I know, I have a very weak mind).

Hugs to you and prayers for you my dear.

-Margie
