"C" is for Crow....

It's been a long time in the coming....but here it finally is:

My little "C is for Crow" pinkeep....Stitched 2 over 2 on 35-count Abecedarian linen, using hand-dyed Gentle Arts flosses.  Embellished with wool pennies and antique ivory buttons.

And a little crow also made by my hands...with applied wings with feather stitched detailing, and mother-of-pearl button eyes....holding a wool bittersweet berry in its beak.

Both are patterns by Brenda Gervais at Country Stitches.

It is my giveaway.

It isn't much, I know, but I wanted something that I had made myself. I tried to choose something that wasn't overly prim, as I know not all of my followers are primlish; yet many are and I wanted something that might appeal to them as well. It had been intended to be done several months ago - so I apologize it is not exactly "Christmasy" in theme - but I'm hoping when the winner sees the crow they will think of me with a smile.
It was a labor of love, as working on linen truly challenges me these days.
And please do not feel obligated to enter - honestly, I will not be offended! I would prefer someone who really will appreciate this to win. For those who are much better stitchers than me (and there are scads of you), I will do another giveaway when life becomes balanced again....and it is highly unlikely that it will be another cross stitched piece.....

Details:  This is a thank you to my followers as of today.  While I love and welcome new followers, this isn't about gaining new followers...it's a very, very, small token of appreciation for the friends I've already met.  So please DO NOT post or otherwise announce this. To enter, just leave a comment on this post....and this post only....saying you would like to be entered.
Entries will be open until December 15th, and I will announce a winner sometime, obviously, after that.....And, yes, it is open to international followers as well.....

Thank you for your friendship and kindnesses.....

Robin,

Oh my these are lovely. I look at them and feel nostalgia for my lost, or at least misplaced, needle arts. I cross stitched for over twenty years and have not cross stitched for as many...and wool, oh my favorite of all...I too loved making birdies but this guy makes mine pale in comparison.

These will be a generous and wonderful gift for one lucky gal. ..so please enter me and I will cross my fingers.

Hope things are looking up a bit out your way, I actually have an interview tomorrow. WoOt, so more finger crossing. :D

I am enjoying your music BTW

Robin, Such a perfect giveaway. I so love items given from the heart, and ones that can be displayed all year. I so hate to put away items when they are given from friends and such a sweet reminder of those special folks when I see them in my home. Love, love, the pinkeep. I tried my hand at CCS but just not my cup of tea. I admire those of you who have the patience to do this craft. And I so love the crow. Such great detail. Please make my day and add my name to your giveaway. Have a blessed day.

Hi Robin, I'm very new to your blog, just a week or two or three in the making.. and to be honest, I'm not sure how I got here -- but your blog name and design and words drew me in, as I am very partial to the Crow and the Cardinal !! Long story but for some reason I found you here.

I just wanted to say that your hand work on the pinkeep and the crow are very special -- thank you for sharing them - - even if just for a viewing. I will look for the patterns on Brenda's site... (maybe that's how I found you : )

Take care !
