The Farmer's Daughter......

I know I have lamented about the fact that there are no primitive shops in Nod....But, 'tis not the whole truth....There was one shop in the next town nearest to us that I dearly loved, but it closed when the building in which it was located was sold. This past fall, however, it reopened in a new location....
It's called "The Farmer's Daughter," and is one of my all-time favorite haunts.
I'm sharing some photos of the shop from a few weeks ago (note green grass and absence of snow.....) I apologize for the Christmas theme so late, but I truly meant to do this weeks ago.....

Gloriously, hopelessly, primitive....nothing else.....

The Farmer's Daughter is located at:
630 Forest Street
Wausau, Wisconsin 54403

Generally, it is only open Saturdays, but the lovely proprietress, Kathy, is happy to make appointments and will accommodate you by opening when she can just for you.  She can be reached at 715-845-6366.  Tell Kathy I sent you - better yet, let me know you're coming and I'll meet you there!

***********

Wishing you all the joy and peace of a happy heart throughout the new year.....

You are so lucky!!Primitive shops have totally disappeared from our area. There are a few booths at the craft mall but nothing original.

Okay Robin, we should do a joint giveaway here on your blog ... guess how many things Shirlee sees in these photos that she wants to have! Perhaps I need to post for prayer warriors now, lifting their voices in daily prayer that my house will sell & SELL FAST when we put it on the market in the spring. Uh-oh ... we now interrupt this comment for another giveaway idea! Everyone who signs up to be a prayer warrior for my house to sell & SELL FAST will be included in drawing for a super-duper giveaway when the closing papers are signed! Whoo-hoo! Anyway, the siren call of Wisconsin is growing louder & louder : ) Hugs, Shirlee

Oh, lucky you! What a great shop. I especially love the wooden rocking horse. One of my neighbors has one in her window and I am dying to ask them about it, but only know them well enough to exchange brief pleasantries. They travel around the world with homes in Dubai and Switzerland, so I can only imagine where they picked up the horse.

Happy new year!

Hi Robin! I am your newest follower. I see that we share mutual prim friends, seeing where you comment on quite a few of the blogs that I follow so I decided to come over here and meet you. =]

What a lovely place that is! There are no prim shops in the state of Oklahoma... that any of us have found anyway. Now you will find prim pieces in certain shops or antique malls but to find a whole shop dedicated to prim is just not here. So consider yourself fortunate that you have such a neat shop to go to! =]

Have a delightful week my new friend~

Oh what a lovely shop! We had one like that near here, was my favorite store, but sadly the owners closed it due to the husband having Cancer :( Now i have to rely on Antique shops, auctions and online stores. Wishing you all the best in 2012!

I just love those little shops that set up in an old house. Lots of treasures to be found at those. I am with you on no prim shops around. We only have one and it is only open on the weekends. They just don't have enough business to stay open everyday. Not too many people in our area into the prim stuff. They call it junk around here. They just don't get it. We occasionally have some good farm auctions in the summer to go to. My hubs went to one that had an old cast iron outdoor bean pot that hung from a frame and the lady stood by it all day and never took her hand off of it. She really wanted it bad. If someone bid against her she would give them a nasty look, like this is mine, back off. My hubs was going to bid on it for me but he was afraid she would flog him. If I was there I would have gotten on the other side of it and held on just for fun.
Hope she enjoyed it.

What a great store. As much as I love NYC I have to say that our vintage and thrift stores are quite overpriced. I need a small place like this that's tucked away from NYC.

Oh I am feeling dizzy, lightheaded, I would count my blessings to have that shop here in the deep south. Primative is just not in the cards for our area. I love everything dearly in her shop, cute building. Thanks for sharing. Kathy
