Tuesday Display Chain: Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary.....

How does your garden grow?
This week's display chain theme is our interpretation of spring gardens.....
(Note - it really is Tuesday even for me this time around.....)

Sadly, this is our last week of the display chain hosted by Misi from 1890 Gable House Musings.  (This week, Traci from York Mountain Primitives is co-hostessing.)  Misi and Traci saved a dilly for the last.  More than any of the other clever themes, this one has thrown me for a loop, because, as you know, I live in Nod.... And, Lady Spring finds Nod ever so slowly.....I think, with the long, relentless, winters here, she just forgets about us sometimes or loses her way (but don't tell her I said that....I'd hate to be subjected to one of her cruel hail storms ~or worse~ out of spite....)

I didn't think I would find myself apologizing so often for my pitiful offerings, yet here I am doing it again.....but here we go.....

"Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?
Well, this Mary's spring garden grows quite contrarily, for I live in Nod you know....."

What I see are blank canvases......waiting to be painted with color and life.

Beds waiting for new plants to nourish and roots to tickle their deep dark recesses:

Containers waiting their turn at being useful again:

Restored to glory with treasures from here:

(Yeah, that's barren and empty too - I told you....things are different in Nod!)

While I say goodbye to these:

And dream of things to come, I am wooed to sleep by the lullaby of my little froggy friends:

And wake to the melodic songs of my feathered neighbors:

*********************************

I hope you visit 1890 Gable House Musings to find the links to all the other chain gang members' posts.  I strongly suspect that Lady Spring plays favorites and has already visited many of them, so there is sure to be color and beauty to more than compensate for my contrary spring garden offerings.....

I also would like to express my sincerest gratitude to Misi (and her several guest hostesses along the way, including Traci and Amy from Bumble Bee Lane) for organizing and hostessing this wonderful thing called the Tuesday Display Chain for as long as I can remember....I know it brought me - and many others - much joy.

(PS - A special thank-you to Linda of Parker's Paradise for my new blog header....)

oh, My dear Robin~your gardens look like they are waiting on the joyful arrival of spring~I can picture them in their full~ don't feel sorrow over it~ but they just take longer to be reborn & I am sure you rejoice on their arrival~ you have terrific potting & garden items~ love the birdhouse~
( PS I so envy you living in a place called nod, I picture it way out in no mans land~ just Mother Nature, no sounds of cars, neighbors, just animals, streams & the wind~oh, I love the sound of that,no smell of factories, just the aroma of green, wood, and soil~ MMMm heavenly)

Ahh, the barren gardens of nod, in no time will be lush with vibrant colors. At least you have tulips and daffodils still, I got very few blooms this year and now they are all quashed from snow, LOL

Thank you for joining in, you gangster you ;) Hugs, Traci

I can picture all the fun little places you have in your garden full of beautiful colors and scents! Love the wash tub and the trike! I have an adult-sized trike that my MIL used to ride (she never learned how to ride a 2-wheeler!) in my garden now. It has two baskets on the back and one on the front. So fun to decorate in the spring/summer months.
Hope you get some nice warm weather soon!!

Hey - nice dirt! You've got a great assortment of outdoor accessories. Your wheelbarrow and tub don't even need flowers. Hopefully, the wait won't be much longer!

What wonderful containers just waiting to be filled with the most beautiful offerings spring and summer can offer. My favorite is the planter with the chicken wire on it. It's very cute:) Hey, things can't be that far behind for you. Your grass is green at lest:) -Steph-

You have wonderful treasures to hold your blooms. I can envision bright flowers filling your old wash tub & vines spilling over the sides. The little wood garden cart is so prim perfect. That's one huge greenhouse you have there. Blessings!

Minnesota has cruel springs too, one day in the 70's the next in the 40's. I am hoping everyone makes another post mid summer to show off how their gardens have grown, hint hint! LOL Thanks for sharing.Have a great day.

Be happy you have Spring blossoms to look forward to. Here in Arkansas, the daffodils are long gone and there's roses in bloom. It's lovely, but it all seems a bit rushed. Love the frog picture and the new blogger head. Well done, Linda.

Ah Spring ~ she comes slow to Nod (and NY! lol) 8 inches of snow on my sod this past week (yes, that background whimpering is the sound of weeping...)

Your washtub and stand caught my eye - I've one the same in my laundry room which acts as the hamper (somehow I'm not surprised we share a fondness for & own a matching "old treasure")

Here's to Spring arriving soon
(or at least some time before summer?) :-)
