A Lil' Bit O' Fall Magic....

Long time, no post, hey?

Sorry....(Or, should I say "you're welcome"?  Guess it just depends on your point of view....)

Things have been a wee bit kwazy...and promise to get even more so, so I thought I would check in while the "checking" is good.

If you know me at all, you know I love Fall....and Halloween.  There is just something magical about this time of year that stirs my soul as surely as the Nod winds stir the mosaic of leaves on the trees and ground.

The magic has begun in very special style this year.
The amazingly talented Kelley from With Hook and Needle has a crazy kind of gift with needle, punch, and hook....(besides, she loves cats - so what's not to love??)
When she recently started hooking a bee skep rug, I was more than a little intrigued...because I have a "thing" for bee skeps.
But, the bee skep turned into something I love even more....
Pumpkins...and CROWS!!
And generous Kelley actually gave this wonderful rug away....
(Did I say she was generous...and maybe a wee bit crazy???)
Holy cats!!! And YIPPEEE, it was ME she gave it to!!! JOY I tell ya, pure JOY!

Arghh....I LOVE how she does crows!

Thank you ever so much Kelley!! I treasure this more than you will ever know.  I have been struggling with my own hook these days, and while you may not know it, you were one of my very first inspirations when I started hooking years ago.  I am hoping to tap into the magic your gift has given me.

**********
Another magical thing about Fall for me is the vibrant and bejeweled way the leaves dress themselves for their last days. How glorious it would be to leave the earth as they do...resplendently dressed and dancing!  I am sharing a few "views" from this past week as a small tribute to Fall's glory.  It wasn't quite as colorful this year with the drought, and what there was won't last long given that it's been snowing (did I just SAY that??) off and on all day today.....but magic nonetheless...

Lastly, Lil' Crow and I will once again be traveling down this road come Monday:

Hoping (and praying) for a little Fall magic along the way.

(PS - Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends North of Nod!!)

Robin, Love the rug and it made its home with one so deserving. Hoping it lifted your spirits my friend. Oh, such beautiful scenery you have there in Nod. I would trade with you and would absolutely love the bitter cold and snow that will follow after those beautiful leaves have flown away. Wishing you and little crow much luck on yet another trip. You will be in my prayers.
Hugs, and blessings
Angela

Hello my sweet friend! Such a wonderful gift. I love crows too. She did a great job, lucky you!
Your photos got me home sick a bit for WI. It is very colorful here for the first time in 9 years. It's usually brown leaves but many colors now. I hope things get better for you. I wonder about you and how you are doing. So if you hear ringing in yer ears...it's me thinking of you. Now pick up the phone LOL!

Congratulations on winning the beautiful hooked rug and so perfect for you too....she knew!!!!!
I'm at a standstill with my hooking - too many other things that are 'first' but it will get going again. But I will never achieve the perfect rugs like those I see on the blogs.

Your Fall photos of your home area are fantastic. We noticed the colors are more vibrant this year and they turned fast too! (and falling just as quickly)
