Thirteen Whiskers From A Cross Eyed Cat

No....not from THIS cross eyed cat....

But, she did inspire me to stitch this piece in the first place.
 ;o)
And I finally finished stitching it.... "Cross Eyed Cat"...a sweet pattern from Lori Brechlin at Notforgotten Farm.

I didn't capture the colors very well....the floss colors are very muted and olde-looking blue/grays and dark brown....stitched on heavily stained 28-count Cashel linen, one over two.

Now to find an old frame for it.  My original plan had been to make it into a pillow of sorts...but it's a bit large for that (measures approximately 7" x 15")....

I would like to find an antique frame like the model was framed in:
So, if any of you have any leads, please let me know.

As long as we're on Halloween themes here, I thought I'd share a photo of My Little Frankenstein....

Looking good, eh?

(I think they should give pain pills to moms too....)

Hope your weekend is off to a great start!

OK WOW!!! just spit my coffee out.

your stitching technique is so much better then the surgeons.......maybe you should be giving them lessons LOL

no humor intended for little crow, that just looks FREAKING painful, Hang in there little crow. you are hopefully on a road to recovery!

yes mom you need meds too!! When my son broke a vertebrae and his jaw in a four wheeler accident, I remember those feelings of needing something to cope! But I believe being moms we tend to be in more pain for them then they are with their injuries.

And naturally being MEN they think we over react, and baby them too much. Now mine just took a fall from a tree stand my DIL told me about it the other night, the next day on the phone I asked how he was, his reaction, he just got invited to an Elk hunt in Colorado yep I wanted to throw my phone at him on the other end of the line.
HE is FINE!! BOYS, I love my BOYS!!

Lil' Crow's appendage does indeed look very painful but it will be worth it for a successful outcome! Still praying for that! Your stitching is fabulous! I think that's the first stitching I've seen you post : )

OH MY!! My knee hurts just looking at that picture! Hope he's doing well!
Your cross stitch is so cool! If you can't find an old frame, can you ruff up a new one?

frontporchprims said...

Holy Crap. I reserve that saying for only the worst and most amazing. I didn't realize they cut above and below the knee too. Poor, poor, boy. Poor, poor, mother. Your stitching is very pretty. The muted colors are perfect on top of the pretty linen.
Old frames aren't hard to come by if you shop good will or thrift stores. You can always repurpose one too. Good luck..err....with the frame and the knee. -Steph-

Ok, perhaps I wasn't clear in the past.....I "need" a warning before you trick me into looking at spiders OR stitches......Accck, all queasy now.

Dearest Crow, it is indeed fortunate that NY is far far from Nod lest I be tempted to hop upon my broom and spirit your stitchery back to my farmhouse in the hills.... it's stunning!

Lil crows knee (tho beyond painful still, no doubt) looks to be mending nicely. No infection by the looks of the image nor fluid retention? All good. And what a great pic to torture him for the rest of his life, lol Ah yes, the 'frankenstein knee photo! Let me pull that out to show (fill in the blank, roflmao)

Wise arsing aside...
Hoping beyond measure that it's a success for him - he (and you) have been thru QUITE enough and deserve the needed outcome this time.

Hugs 'o plenty dear friend
Issy
