In Nod, we have two seasons: Winter and June
We went from 29° to 95° in just over a week's time.
June has arrived as impetuously as a spoiled child.
But she is, after all, June: The adolescent youth of Summer...mischievous, unpredictable, and oh so winsome and cunning.
And so now it is time to attend to the joys of June:
The riot of blooms that seemingly appear overnight - old friends well welcomed after a long winter's absence...

Beautiful ferns, is that along your house in Nod? Nice flowers and love the toad and pick mine up when I see them. OH!!!! Love the Outhouse. As a kid my brother and I had to use one at my grandparents house so I've first hand experience at using torn catalog pages as toilet paper, lol.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos and your commentary!
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos!!!
ReplyDeleteYour clematis is just gorgeous. Mine are just beginning to bloom.
Oh my your ferns are so much greener than mine are. I love them! I giggled when you said you have 2 seasons in Nod...but I know you are probably not kidding. It is in the mid 90's here now too in Michigan and the May Flies are driving everyone inside for a week. But glad they are here because it means the river is clean. I had a wonderful clematis like yours, but it died when I moved it. Never planted another one. Hope your reno is coming along. I even hate to see we are almost complete. Bob works so hard getting it done. Janice
ReplyDeleteYou have a poetic way with words- I felt like I was there. Beautiful photos too!
ReplyDeleteYour clematis is is way ahead of mine, and so gorgeous. I feel like I'm touring a magical place. Your description is so romantic. Lovely photography.
ReplyDeleteThose ferns look just like our fiddlehead ferns after thay are fully unfurled.
Hugs, Julia
We have the same two seasons. lol plus one more orange barrel season
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that once people start hitting the roads for vacation, the orange barrels come out?
Well, lovely pictures
We have been having August weather here
Happy June to you may up there in the Land of Nod. :~) You captured it beautifully in both words and pictures. That's quite a temperature change ~ something we would expect here in the foothills of the Ozarks. It's hard to believe that the year is almost half over, and that the longest day of the year is right upon us.
ReplyDeleteMy brother and his wife who live in your neck of Nod welcomed Summer temps also. They have been kicking around the idea of selling their house but not sure where up there they would go. Your photos are so beautiful. Going through the North Winters probably makes seeing all that beauty a real joy. Take care!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures ! We had the same temperatures ...its so hot & humid here too !!!
ReplyDeleteAfter the long Winter siege, to view such beautiful floral expressions must be a delight. Your clematis could take a prize and
ReplyDeleteyour fern must feel very happy in that spot and in your care.
What a lovely post on June and so very true. I never thought of it quite like that but it is all true. Your pictures are lovely

ReplyDeleteJune has arrived happy, bringing optimism. Lovely views of Nod, but exactly where is Nod?
ReplyDeleteJune is your reward for being able to stand those cold temperatures. Such beauty! Your yard is lovely. I love those ferns so much!
ReplyDeleteA lovely visit to your special land. Love, especially, the gate and the ferns. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm a gemini and you could have been describing me...ahahah. Love your post, photos and story!
