Oh. My. Goodness!!! Are they poisonous?? I do not like snakes one bit (not even the non-poisonous variety), and don't think I would ever go outside if I saw those big, honkin' things in my yard!! I read your previous posts on your adventures with snakes, and I am rather "freaked out" by the one hanging in your tree..... And the poor little birds.... Although I must say that our hunter cat mutilated a nest of eggs several years ago, and I have not gotten over that yet, either. I can still hear the mama/papa birds shrieking.... Oh my.... I guess it's nature, but for this "can't we all just live in peace" kinda girl, I am sad to see this sort of thing happen.... I hope you can come up with a way to get rid of those snakes around your house.... Maybe Billy the Exterminator can make a house call to Nod????

Oh, MAN, I hear ya! Ewww...snakes...make me squeal like a little girl and run faster than I normally am capable of! Yuck!

My sheets would stay on the line permanently! I do remember after reading the other posts about the snakes, you talking about this before. Holy cow, I think I'd have to move. You might want to think about changing from Cranky Crow to Totally Freaked Out Crow!!

Don't know if it's true, but I heard that using fake owls and hawks deter snakes from sticking around. Or at least from coming out in the open. You have to fake them out and keep moving the decoys though!

Oh girl hope you used the zoom..Yuck..Yikes..not going near them.Good luck maybe you can talk hubby into getting the laundry.~Amy

I would have to hire someone to remove as many as they can find - repeatedly..they're breeding for Petes sake!

Maybe a local reptile nut would do it for you for free?

EW! no way I could stand it. One silly mouse made me nearly inconsolable...and I used to be such a nature girl..before lala land.

Eeeeewwwwwhhhh! I hate snakes. We are trying as of today to kill a copperhead. He's moved under the foundation of Beloved Son's little cabin where he sleeps!!! This one is almost 4 ft. long, and big around as a drinking glass. This morning & Friday morning he almost stepped on the snake when he came out the door. If nothing else we are buying turpentine to spray under there, snakes don't like the smell & it burns their skin. Son won't be back in there if we do, it will burn his asthma too. You can spray your boots with it too, if will keep them off your feet. The Boy Scouts do this on their hikes. Lord have mercy on you & me!

I'd be going Nuts!
I HATE Snakes!
Seriously Hate Hate Hate.
The thought of them makes my skin crawl.
I'll see them crossing the road while driving (no, I dont run them over but...) Yuck it makes me squirm.
In fact, right now typing this, I feel like something is crawling on me.
Did I mention...
I HATE snakes! ;)
Hugs,
Tam
PS. Making myself a mental note, that if I even come to visit, I'm coming in the Winter!!! LOL!!

all I could think was I hope the crow in the header eats that snake, I dislike snakes, I really do, the pond you put in probably brought the frogs which in turn brings the snakes, we had a lot of snakes when we lived on the lake because of the marshy shore which was frog habitat, if you get rid of the pond the snakes would probably go too unless they have hunkered down in breeding nests,

Did you know wasp spray can kill a snake. And mice. I recently got that info from a friend that says use that instead of pepper spray for self defense. It shoots 20 feet and will sting like crazy... but it will also kill a snake and a mouse.
What kind of snake is that?

You know that I don't mind snakes, but we don't grow snakes that big in my little corner of the world. I would NOT be happy to see one that size!

Oh I am so sorry, and you stepped over the huge one? Did it look like a misplaced pool noodle, couldn't resist that. And just you wait until the spidies come out to play, and look for love, oh I will be a screaming mess.

I have the feeling that I can't use any guns on them...blasting a hole in the floor isn't the best pest control.

Those snakes are wicked, and I mean it in the best sense of the word. Nasty and they fade into the wood work, that's so not good. Be very careful out there.

If my husband see one of them will be the last day that we live in our home, LOL. He hate them! I am not a big of fan of them, I can handle a little but if I see one of that size I will agree with him. Take care.

I don't mind snakes as long as they stay away from me. I have only seen one since moving here to the devil's playground. I think the local spiders probably keep the population down.

I'd have the Sale sign up and be loading the moving van! We have lots of snakes here in Florida, and they freak me out. When I go around the side of the house where they usually are, I make lots of noise and flail my arms like a crazy woman. I call it my snake dance and do it every day when I take out the trash...I'm sure the neighbors are amused!

Ewwww!! Yuck!!! Yikes!! I do NOT like snakes!! We rarely see them here and that is OK with me!! I remember when I was little, our little dog caught a snake, shook it, and lots of babies flew out of it!! Grossed me out even then!! My advice.....NEVER go without shoes!!---Jan

I have to varieties this year..a queen snake and a garter..mne are not as bis as yours...what is it ? They love to come shed their skin on my bayberries...getting rid of tose shrubs this year...tired of coming off or up to my porch steps to finding a snake sunning themselves. Take care, Janice

Um.....those are way to big:{ I don't mind little garden snakes but these.... I would never go outside. You ever watch the show "Call of the Wild Man"? Where his whole living is made of going into people's homes and yards to capture wild creatures with his bare hands? You need him to come to your house. Good luck. -Steph-

Ohhhh yuka muka ... NO Way! I do Not like 'snakes' period. We have Mojave Green rattlesnakes here and they are notorious for being very aggressive. I just hope I can outrun them if it ever becomes necessary... for this I will need wings cause at my age 70+, I do not walk very fast let alone run ... what a picture I have conjured up in my head ... not so funny yet very laughable.
BTW ... Thanks for the sweet comment on my Blog for the winner of my 1st Giveaway (Carol - Firecracker Kid). She is a sweet heart and many thanks to all those who entered.
Hope Snow Dog is doing better. He reminds me so much of my Puppy Love, Kody. These breeds are without a doubt my all time favorite. Anyways,
Much Peace and Joy and God Bless our Warriors,
Barb
