There are times when I just need to clear my head.
Over the years, I've tried many different ways of doing this....
And while all the "methods" have their charms, it seems that the one that does the "trick" the best is probably the one I've known the longest....
A trip to the cemetery.
The older and more remote, the better.
I like the feeling of being completely alone there....
Well, as "alone" as one can be there.
So, yesterday, I made a trip....
Down several old gravel roads....and then a few more.
The place is all but forgotten it seems, but the gates are always open...The earth has made sure of that.
The stones are so sparse and so scattered, at first, you may not notice them.
But they are there.
Some hidden....
Some forgotten:
The caretaker's tools becoming a very part of the earth....
But beautiful always...

Afternoon Sweet Crow, somehow I believe visiting a old cemetery is comforting. Beautiful scenery, peaceful, I am happy you made the trip.... Thanks for your visit to my blog, soon as I see The Cranky Crow on my comments my heart is happy. Blessings Francine.
Hello Sweet Crow. I've missed you. We have this in common. I find myself at the local cemetary when I'm feeling disconnected. I find it very peaceful and centering.
I love old cemeteries and visited one just yesterday on my way back from Cincinnati. I have been known to picnic in beautiful old cemeteries. Love them and also find them enticing and filled with silent beauty.
Beautiful! Blessings, Sandra
Cemeteries are a peaceful reflection of the past. I too wander about letting the past engulf my being, knowing that a "cold stone" can warm my heart.

Hi Robin!
It seems like forever that we've chatted! Maybe I need to haunt a cemetery and see if does the same thing for me... we have one within walking distance here.
With Halloween upon us be so ever careful as you make your journey through the tombs.
Blessings and hugs!

What an old and lonely cemetery. Peaceful silence. Cleansing. When I walk around all those people bound to the earth, I experience an emotion I can't explain. It sort of drains all others. Weird huh?
I love to visit old cemeteries and the beauty that they hold.
I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and loved all the wonderful pics of your journey.
Prim Blessings

Cemeteries can be really beautiful places.
I do visit the family plot when I drive up to my mom's. Something about the old tombstones draws me in to find out more about those who have since went on to a different world...as I do believe our spirits are around us...after all being an antique dealer, I have experienced a few things that cannot be explained. A haunting post, indeed. My heart feels very still after looking at the photos and reading the words - a good stillness.
