Hats Off to Uncle Sam...Yeah, I'm Late Like That....

I apologize for being so very long gone.  I do have a very good reason.  Trust me.  And not because I am a lawyer.  Life has just veered off course again...but this one I somewhat saw coming. I just did not want to acknowledge it in the ways I needed to.

Anywhat.

I am, as you have, by now, figured out, "back."  I had submitted my issue about my "disappeared" reading list to Blogger/Google Help...and, after several days weeks, they actually responded and informed me they had resolved the problem.  A rare, but so much appreciated, "Woo Hoo" moment. The "Whoops" problem, however, still persists.  My request to make the error message less irritable apparently, too, was ignored.

I have done little and accomplished even less recently that would hold your attention most likely.  I did finish up a Blackbird Design design I had been wanting to do for some time.  Now, well, like many other things these days, I am not sure why.

{"Hats Off to Uncle Sam" by Blackbird Designs}

I also finished up (stitching anyways) "Oceanarium," a design by The Primitive Hare.

Kind of cheesy sayings I know, but I stitched it as a companion piece to "The Mermaid of Salem Bay," also by The Primitive Hare.

I'm over my mermaid "thing" now.  Really. Truly.

The Buttercup (Ranunculus) has spent its beauty...

And the Bittersweet is coming into its colors:

Short-lived, however, as a hard freeze is expected by the end of the week.

I will leave you with a photo of my beloved moon.  I missed the "full" harvest moon as it was raining buckets here, but this was last night, so close enough....

Even when you can't see her, she is magical.

Your stiching projects are very nice. Those flowers - stop it! The moon the past 3 nights - amazing!! Hope to see you soon.

I'm so glad that you posted, and I'm equally glad that Blogger fixed the problem with your Reader List.

Are you serious... you are expecting a hard frost by the weekend already.

Your mermaid cross stitches are just so lovely and the pin-keep. What a pretty bouquet of white flowers. It's pretty enough to be used as a wedding bouquet. I've never grown those and I may look around to plant some next year, not that I have weddings on my mind but they are so pretty.

I can see Gasper's face on the moon. What a lovely picture of the moon. I've never been able to take a decent picture of the moon.

Take care and stay safe and well.
Hugs, Julia

Your Uncle Sam finish is amazing. That’s lots of work. I haven’t got the courage to try a pin drum yet. Have sent both of mine off to someone else for finishing. Yours looks perfect. Lovely finish by Primitive Hare as well. You have been busy. We don’t grow ranunculous and bittersweet here. Not sure why. Maybe the climate is too hot. That bittersweet would be lovely to decorate with instead of the fake stuff. That is a mysterious looking moon you captured. Have a great weekend.

Oh, I just LOVE that moon photo! The clouds giveth, and the clouds taketh away, in moon watching! And I am so excited to see the bittersweet "in the wild." That is something I have not seen with my own eyes yet. What charming designs you stitched! I love cross stitch. And to "finish!" Let us not speak of the stack of sticheries in mine sewing basket. So glad the Blogger folks fixed the disappeared blog list. I am amazed when they help. It's like calling up the White House and actually being put through to the Vice President.

I love your "Hats off" piece - how clever. I also talk to Luna and admire her beauty. She has been sooo bright! (Could be because much of our smoke has finally cleared.)

My grandkids called the moon Luna for a long time.

Ah mermaids, we love them. I have a very large mermaid, probably about 6 feet tall, carved from the trunk of a chestnut tree, she stands on her upturned tail in the corner of my garden terrace, her name is Glynis. The Mr and I have just returned form a trip to the Scilly Isles, which lie off the UK's south coast. The waters are crystal clear and we could see an abundance of Maidens Hair, a long seaweed, it made me think of mermaids. Jean

The moon pic is gorgeous. The night skies constantly speak of God’s glory.

I am sad to see the mermaids go. Lovely pieces, I think. Bittersweet, I love. I could use a hand full or three.

That moon is magical. Stunning by itself, or partially obscured by shadows or clouds. But I hate fall and winter.
Hope your weekend has moments of peace.

I am always in awe at the stitcheries you complete and these are no exception! I missed the Harvest moon too. It was raining cats and dogs that evening. Janice

WOWZER! Your pin drum is amazing and so sweet. I could do the stitching...but not the finishing...lol!
Oceanarium is the perfect companion piece to The Mermaid.
Oh, here is Ohio you could make a fortune selling your bittersweet.
Keep on stitchin', ET.
