Time again slipped through my hands and here it is Christmas night.
I had such good intentions but, as Augusten Burroughs said, "I, myself, am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions."
So, in lieu of the posts I intended to do this month, you get this one.
Just a few random photos around the house this holiday season.
{A close-up of one of the old Kentucky Bourbon pulp papier mache snowmen snowpeeps that hang out on the entryway cupboard above}
{My (humble compared to Lauren's) collection of saltglaze Santas - sorry for the poor photo; it is very difficult to photograph them where they are displayed}

My wish for you this Christmas is for peace - peace within your heart and within your soul as that is where I firmly believe all peace truly must first begin.
I hope your Christmas was filled with unending joy that will last not just a day but a season.
Merry, Merry, Christmas my friends.

Well neither you or Lauren should visit each other at Christmas as there may be some missing salt glaze Santa's LOL Your Christmas decor is so festive. Love the simple look of the cranberries with a hint of green too. Love it all! Merry Christmas my friend! Janice
Your decorating...so understated...leaves me breathless. You have such a knack for display.
I hope you find peace, too, my ET.
Merry Christmas to you from Ohio! Your home looks so cozy and festive! I love all your decorations and those Santas are fabulous. I've missed a few of your previous posts so I'm going to go back and catch up. Your area looks more Christmas like than ours. It was a warm, rainy, unusual for our area, day. But festive anyway! Happy Christmas friend!
I'm so happy to find this post on Christmas day. I love your decorating style. It's a classy primitive. Is there such a thing?
Your salt-glazed Santas collection is beautiful and you know that though I don't have any, I appreciate their beauty. It must be because I once was a hobby ceramic teacher. Although I never did salt glazing, I always wanted to try it.
Merry Christmas 🎄 Hugs, Julia
Merry Christmas and thanks for more photos of your beautiful country home. I have a butter churn but definitely not as large as yours. Love the beams, love the...well I loved every thing.
Just a few random photos? They'll do nicely my friend. Always inspiring.
Your home looks so beautiful , warm , cozy & comfortable . You have beautiful antique treasures .
Looking forward to a peaceful , healthy 2022 !
Dear Robin I hope your day was a good one. A tiny glimpse into your home and your treasures is always too brief. But we'll take what we can get!! More importantly, we all hope you have some sunshine and bright spots lifting your spirit.
It all looks so endeared and thought-through...no wonder the results are so appealing. You certainly have the eye for the simplicity at the heart of peace. I always think of Boxing day as recovery day and I have copied your Burroughs' quote.... it says it all. Have a relaxing pause, Robin.
I love Julia's term "classy primitive" to describe your decorating style. I think it is all about your use of wood, and the smaller collectibles, of course. I think we are all ready to press the reset button as we go into a brand new, hopefully better, new year.
I love the soft and gentle hues in your decorating and also the decorative items themselves. I hope your Christmas was a good one.
merry merry Robin
wishing you peace, joy and good health
Love your decorations I have one salt glaze Santa so you are ahead of me. Boy is your counter deep! I have a butter churn I use for a side table. I did the same thing by putting an old bread board on the top.
I hope your holiday was a wonderful one.
happy New Year
Cathy
Oh how I wish you could decorate my house!! I love seeing all of your treasures. I do hope you had a Merry Christmas. As always, I am cleaned up and have everything put away. I always look forward to Christmas but I like it best when its back to normal. I love those Saltbox Santa's and I love that jail cupboard. I hope you have a better 2022.
You have such a beautiful home! Your prims are so lovely and I swoon over how you have everything displayed throughout your house. Merry Christmas!
