The Merriment Chain ~ Day 5: Gone Shopping

Day 5 of The Merriment Chain found me shopping....
for lights....(remember yesterday??)

Since the lights I need want are the grungified, wax-dipped, silicone kind, I headed to the only my favorite area prim store.

 The Farmer's Daughter

And I shopped.  After all, that whole shopping thing is a big part of the merriment of the season, no?

Started my letter to Santa....

Oh and the lights? Nope, didn't find them.

What a beautiful shop. I would have totally forgotton what I went in there for if we had a place as pretty as this to spend money in. Would you dare try your hand at making your own silicone lights? I know it's possible. I have seen tutorials for them. -Steph-

It's very fortunate for my budget that I live MANY miles distant from that shop! lol (Tho she'd be far richer if I were within driving range as I'd be tempted to take nearly everything home)... How do you behave at all when you're there?!!!!

Hope you are able to locate your lights soon - vexing to be unable to find the one special item needed :-(

Robin,
Who cares about the lights! Woah! That store is awesome!!!!!! Loving the tree in the tub! Oh, and the pewter plates, and yeah, I am glad my husband doesn't see what I write... He may be a little nervous right now... ;) Hey, I got a favor to ask... People keep telling me that I am a "No Reply" blogger again. I had it fixed. I tried to fix it again. Am I? Can anyone tell??? I feel like I am asking if my slip is showing, but I don't get this no reply thingy... Ugh.

Blessings!!!
Heather

Robyn ~
What a wonderful shop!
Half the silicone dipped bulbs on one of my smaller trees, already totally decorated, are out. GGRRR! They weren't when I decorated it. My only alternative is to take the decorations off and start over. I am too cheap to pay for the grungy dipped lights so I went to Home Depot and bought silicone and will dip my own. Not quite as cool but the price is much better.
And you still get the give-away win award!!! It's maybe the second one I've won all year, girlfriend :) (But I am thrilled!)
Pug hugs :)

Anyway to just tip a feather into one of the ornaments and light up the whole tree? nah, well it was a good thought. At least the shopping revived your happy meter, I love country shops, and that one looks like an Amish farmhouse!

Oh my! Lights are an issue this year. Usually the Speckled Hen has some, but don't think she does now.I used what they call "Bark" lights this year. Yellowy covered with cinnamon, instead of my Vicky Jeans. Loved your merriment anyway, shopping is indeed a BIG part of it. BTW Ginny Curry did a tut on lights one time . Hang them on a line and dip them in plain old mustard.

Lucky you to find an excuse to visit ;0) -I have been warned off the Antique shops at Christmas time by family members that fear they will receive a trencher bowl instead of the latest electronic gadget.
Sorry about your Light dilemma, but wishing you a fun time along your hunt.
