The Two Seasons of Nod

In Nod, we have two seasons:  Winter and June
We went from 29° to 95° in just over a week's time.

June has arrived as impetuously as a spoiled child.
But she is, after all, June:  The adolescent youth of Summer...mischievous, unpredictable, and oh so winsome and cunning.

And so now it is time to attend to the joys of June:

The riot of blooms that seemingly appear overnight - old friends well welcomed after a long winter's absence...

The impossible cloud formations that only June can imagine...

Unexpected visits as though June put out her own welcome sign...

The smell of fresh-cut hay...

The chorus of frogs orchestrated by Mother Nature each evening at nightfall...weather permitting...

The fog that settles over the low lands in the late humid evenings...

Paths and walkways wrapped in verdure...

Do not grow up too quickly June!

Beautiful ferns, is that along your house in Nod? Nice flowers and love the toad and pick mine up when I see them. OH!!!! Love the Outhouse. As a kid my brother and I had to use one at my grandparents house so I've first hand experience at using torn catalog pages as toilet paper, lol.

Oh my your ferns are so much greener than mine are. I love them! I giggled when you said you have 2 seasons in Nod...but I know you are probably not kidding. It is in the mid 90's here now too in Michigan and the May Flies are driving everyone inside for a week. But glad they are here because it means the river is clean. I had a wonderful clematis like yours, but it died when I moved it. Never planted another one. Hope your reno is coming along. I even hate to see we are almost complete. Bob works so hard getting it done. Janice

Your clematis is is way ahead of mine, and so gorgeous. I feel like I'm touring a magical place. Your description is so romantic. Lovely photography.

Those ferns look just like our fiddlehead ferns after thay are fully unfurled.

Hugs, Julia

We have the same two seasons. lol plus one more orange barrel season

Why is it that once people start hitting the roads for vacation, the orange barrels come out?

Well, lovely pictures

We have been having August weather here

Happy June to you may up there in the Land of Nod. :~) You captured it beautifully in both words and pictures. That's quite a temperature change ~ something we would expect here in the foothills of the Ozarks. It's hard to believe that the year is almost half over, and that the longest day of the year is right upon us.

My brother and his wife who live in your neck of Nod welcomed Summer temps also. They have been kicking around the idea of selling their house but not sure where up there they would go. Your photos are so beautiful. Going through the North Winters probably makes seeing all that beauty a real joy. Take care!

After the long Winter siege, to view such beautiful floral expressions must be a delight. Your clematis could take a prize and
your fern must feel very happy in that spot and in your care.
