Back to Back Forty

 Exactly one year ago today, I posted about a magical place just over the (very large) hill and through the woods (literally) from me: Back Forty

{If you are interested in the original post, you can find that post here.}

Although Mark and Mel have their sales several times each year, it seems (to me at least) that their Christmas sales are the most beguiling.  (And coming from me - whose first love is fall/Halloween - that is saying a lot.)

This year was no exception.... If anything, it was even more amazing than last year's.
So, in search of my once again misplaced Christmas spirit, I chose a time that I had hoped would be less "people-y" and made the 3-minute trek over (I am in serious danger of becoming a hermit.)
Since I explained the "gist" of the shop in the original post, I will not repeat it here.  You know where to find it (👆).
I will leave you instead with a few photos (hurriedly taken as there apparently is no longer a time when there are no people).
News of good  things, indeed, travels quickly.

{You don't know how close this table was to coming home with me...for the lake...}

Peace and out....

LOVE LOVE LOVE this store! I may have to ask Bob to make a few of those rotten egg signs for Easter. What a fun idea. So many things I like. TFS Janice

What a great place; so much to inspire all of us. I remember when, as a child, we used to go to the back forty to get our tree ~ just the right-sized cedar in an overgrown field.

The store looks amazing once again!
Did they finally finish the remodel at the lake house and move on?
Maybe that table has your name on it!

Oh you are too funny. I just might have to use that: too peopley! I love it. I usually say I get peopled out. Needless to say, I know precisely what you mean. Jingles.

Beautiful shop! I feel like I saw Santa's workshop for the grownup's gifts! I think it's fine to be hermit-y. I think of people as I do salt: A lot of salt isn't good for me -- and people aren't either! I just like a wee sprinkle of each now and again!

Woah that is one cool shop. I’d be there for hours!

Well surely you found the Christmas spirit there! What a lovely store and sounds like it is in the perfect setting. I see several things I would have walked out with. Great idea for that table to take 2 tables and make one.

I can see why you have a notion to take the "table home". I'd try to replicate it too. What a store of holiday charm. Your photo shares are a perfect way of lifting spirits. If not, I pity the Scrooge!!

I don't like crowds and also try to time it before (idiots) people come out of the woodwork! Yep,too people-y.

Well of course I had to visit the previous post just to see all the goodies you posted then. Were you able to carry all you purchases back across that 3 minute walk back home? Love how they mix vintage with new craft pieces. And I love both the double tables AND that homemade chopping block looking piece, guess Mark made it?

I visited the previous post and along with this one has me hooked! I'd be there constantly. I'll have to ask my brother if he or my SIL have been there. It's my kind of shop!

That place sure has some charm, it looks magical, doesn't it? Knowing me, I would want to replicate everything but wouldn't know how to decorate in my own home. My nose has been on the grindstone for far too long and my creative juices are dried up. Where would I store all that stuff? I wouldn't dare use the basement since the last two big floods. The only solution is to be satisfied with the little I've got but there is no harm in dreaming...

Take care, my friend.
Hugs,
Julia
